Find a classic bricks break PC game in Year 2005 -- Wilkanoid
A bricks break game
Recently I suddenly miss a 2d bricks break game once played. In my memory it’s around 2005, but I don’t know the game name since at that time I am not very sensitive about English and just start learning it, and it’s from a CD.
With so few clues, I started searching on the web, like bilibili, Youtube and anything I can check. I also tried to search some bricksbreak-like game topic or collection, but none of them hit. I also tried the Gemini, but no luck.
After at least several hours efforts, that turns out to be nothing. The results are almost those most famous game, a typical one is DX-Ball, though I have played it, but not the one I mean. Guess the one I am looking for is not that popular.
Then since it’s an English game, I try to dig it in the English BBS, like Reddit. In fact that turns out be the smartest decision. Things turns around when I check a post:

there is an anwser by Karzons:
“It would be quite the marathon to go through them all, but there’s a long list of this type of game with screenshots here.“
Then I check the website, after several minutes search, I finally find it:

That’s the game I am digging for, and it’s actually published at year 2001.

However, you can’t download the 1st generation one. There is only Wilkanoid 2 now.
Luckily, you can still download the old version from other source archive website like:

installation
Wilkanoid 1 has some issue about installation.
In modern OS like Win10, you could be stucked when install it with installation package.
I tried install it in the WinXP virtual machine(actually it’s the system I played it at the first place), with no doubot that works.
Then copy the whole extracted folder into host Win10 machine, game will perform better than it does in the virtual machine.Wilkanoid 2 is also considerable, it has no installation issue, but has different flavor.
Human can solve the complicated problem.
The quest is actually solved by a real human answer. Human solve problems with more complex experience and multiple aspects, and can use more imagination to do it, our fuzzy memory and emotion can also help. Not work every time, but still built this huge and sophisticated information world, machine is just the extension of our meat and flesh brain.
